The story of the comic misadventures of a young Peruvian bear that travels to the city in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone, he begins to realize that city life is not all he had imagined; until he meets the kindly Brown family who read the label around his neck that says "Please look after this bear, Thank you", and offer him a temporary haven. It looks as though his luck has changed until this rarest of bears catches the eye of a museum taxidermist.

I still have the Paddington Bear I got in 1978 with its real little kid's Dunlop rubber boots. The original books and television series had a bit more emphasis on the bear trying to understand puzzling aspects of human society that we all take for granted but he was just as prone to mishaps. The bear family backstory seemed unnecessary but doesn't hurt, I suppose.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching this movie, despite the backlash it has received for being too scary for younger audiences. It had just the right amount of sweetness, humour, bittersweet emotion and suspense that makes a family movie true to its name. Paddington is a bear who loves to eat marmalade and has spent his life hearing of the explorer whom his uncle met in his early years. But one day, an earthquake shakes his home in Darker Peru and his uncle dies, leaving our protagonist and his aunt alone. Paddington sets sail to London, where he hopes to find the explorer that once promised his uncle that his family would receive a warm welcome once they arrive. Upon arrival, he is unaware of where to go next and how to find the home he yearns for, and the Brown family takes him in for the time being. Little did they know that Paddington would become a real member of their family, and little does Paddington know that a taxidermist is on his tail! I truly do not understand why so many people had an issue with this movie; I think the taxidermist playing a villain role was intelligent, creative and original and taxidermy is a real problem that should be exposed to the public. Stellar cast and cutest bear ever!

This movie is on Tomorrow but my brother didn't check so i can not movie but i hope this movie is very good i hope it is gonna be as good as good the cartoon thta i watch as a kid in 2003 i think it is funny that he had a lot of jars of marmalade. When Paddington arrives at the Brown's house, he floods the bathroom and its pretty funny. I also really like the song called I feel good. It's also funny how he put a sandwich through the tubes. Also, when the lady had a phone call, she grabbed the kangaroo instead of the phone. Paddington also got a lot of tape and it got stuck all over him. Later, Mr. Brown doesn't want Paddington to stay at their house then he desideds to go find another palcae to stay and he is trying to find his family and one lady pretants that she has been looking for him for a longtime and then a man calls his family that adopted him and say that they have Paddingtion and Mr Brown hungs up the phone and tells the family that he has been kidnaped and they all went to look for him and the lady that took him she shot him to make him as a stuff toy bear in desplay in the museme when they found him they saw that he was shot the 2 kids lowered down the string to get him out of there but the frist think they did was trying to destrack the man so they will let them in i didn't think this movie would be so good i really liked the movie i usally watch the moviie on DVD before on T.v but this time i watched it on T.V . frist and in the movie they why because he is a bear and i knew thats what he is gonna say i said it at the same time and on Y.TV they did a trivea during the movie i use to watch the old show in 1997 and then they had a bran new show of him in 200 but i also watch it in 2005 on TVO KIDS when i grew up .

First created by author Michael Bond in the late 50’s, marmalade-loving Paddington Bear and his misadventures have gone on to become a British icon. Now director Paul King brings the beloved teddy bear to CGI life in this live action comedy and the results truly look like a bedtime story. A nice mix of warm fuzzies and sheer ridiculousness (Kidman’s character really is too much) with more than a touch of magical whimsy as wallpaper comes to life, a movie screen becomes a doorway, and the Brown residence morphs into an antique dollhouse. The CGI mayhem is impeccable—a police chase through the suburbs is a triumph of fancy vs reality—and that little bear with his duffel coat and proper English accent is just so gosh darn huggable you’ll want to run out to the nearest toy store before the end credits finish rolling. Michael Bond himself makes a cameo playing a tea shop patron who raises a cup as Paddington’s cab whizzes by.

I enjoyed Paddington very much. It's funny, intelligent and the animation/special effects are tasteful and create a believable new world. My personal fav Sally Hawkins is endearing. Recommended for kids AND adults.
