While I didn't predict the exact ending of this book it was somewhat anti-climatic. It seems a little flat and left many things unresolved for me.

I absolutely did not like this book. The storyline felt awkward, clumsy. The dialog sent me into fits – tantrums. Every character annoyed and frustrated me to record breaking levels. Simply put, I just couldn’t buy anything this story was selling. That said, I can see why this book is either loved or hated but rarely in-between.

3.5 stars
More than a thriller, this book was a study in the psychology of a family that looks nearly perfect on the outside, but is a mess when behind the closed doors of their home. There are a loveless marriage between a subservient wife and a critical, greedy husband, and sisters whose natural competition is escalated by their father's constant comparisons of one to the other. No wonder Mia begins to fall for her captor, who just might be her savior, as well. Parts of the book are predictable, but it's a solid debut, and I would read this author's next offering.
