I read several chapters of this book but gave up on it. It was not very interesting - views of a young girl (Irene Adler) interacting with a young Sherlock Holmes and his friend Arsene Lupin at a summer resort. Most of the description was given over to how they reacted to each other, their family life, and what they did on their vacation (we spent the afternoon talking). Very little was exploring character or their investigation or anything showing how special they were or were to become.

I wanted to see if this would be appropriate for my son so I pre- read it. It was enjoyable for me, but my 7 year old would have found the dead body, etc disturbing. Recommended for tweens or older.

This book is from an interesting point of view, but the main character wasn't really strong as I thought Irene Adler should be, though the idea of a prequel is interesting.

This book is one of the best books I've ever read! I devoured it. If you haven't read it yet then get reading!
