I went into this book knowing I would not like the main character. I DID NOT LIKE GEMMA. She annoyed me to no end, made bad decisions and I didn't understand any of her motivation as a child or even when the book takes place. I didn't understand Hallie's motivation either. None of the characters were interesting to me, and the plot was very cliché and overly dramatic.
