Using 16mm cameras, artist Ben Rivers documents the solitary existence of Jake, a man who lives in isolation in the middle of a remote forest. The film follows his unconventional life, capturing moments of profound beauty. Jake is seen in all seasons, surviving frugally, passing the time with strange projects, living the radical dream he had as a younger man, a dream he spent two years working at sea to realize.

European Art House Cinema,.. in the worst sense of that 'tradition'. ie...if you keep the camera on the same scene or face for a long enough period of time, then after a while the audience will increasingly infuse that image with 'profound meaning'. BORING !

If you are a fan of 'Breaking Bad' this dvd is not for you. In fact, the average person could only get through this documentary if they fell asleep five minutes into it and woke up five minutes before the end. Very slow moving. That being said, the main character (only character?) Jake, is probably much more content with his life than most of us.
