This book made me hope then pulled the wool over my eyes. Oh my word. When they say it's a good series to read after the Hunger Games, they're not kidding. The horror and despair in this story either matches or surpasses that of Katniss'. Gene knows that the Scientist is his father, and he is determined to find him. But the hunters are getting smarter, and their attacks are getting crueler and harder to evade. Somehow, the gang follows hidden clues, looking for the Land of Milk and Honey, Fruit and Sunshine. But when they think they find it, not everything is as it seems. In fact, the village seems positively sinister, hiding insidious secrets under fake smiles and morning songs. Who can be trusted, and what must the gang decide for their future?

Book 2 of 3 (preceded by The Hunt and followed by the Trap). This was a great continuation of the first book. It was exciting and suspenceful. Some concepts were still not answered and I am hoping that will be done in the next book - I can't wait.

A really great book! full of adventure, suspense and romance, "The Prey" is a fantastic sequel to "the Hunt". with a fresh take on the vampires, it's a much better way to fall in love with vampires! Plus, fans of the Hunger Games, The Immortal Rules, and The Chronicles of Nick series' will love this series!!
