Tchaïkovsky suitesDVD - 2011 | French | Widescreen.
Magifique: Tchaikovsky suites received its first performances in December 2009 at the Victoria Eugenia Theatre in San Sebastian. The main theme is the desire to counter childhood memories of wonderment and happy experiences with the maturity and disillusionment of the adult world. Another element consists of shadowy images of a disenchantment fantasy as yet unburdened by reality. The use of monstrous black figures creates an unforced transition between the suites, to which 16 dancers perform wonderfully inventive duets, trios, quartets, and tutti ensembles. The production is fivided into three tableaux. Against a simple background of mobile mirrors, the kiss in Sleeping Beauty surprises, the idiosyncratic use of make dancers for the Four Little Swans variation in Swan Lake provokes laughter and the Danse Chinoise and Frederik Deberdt's solo as the fairy in the Nutcracker Suite awakens a hunger for recognition and elastic virtuosity.
