Sequel to The Shadow Project, the teenage spies travel to the U.S. to see if a rift in time/space is still active. During the course of the investigation, and plague from the Dark Ages is loosed on the modern world, with the potential to kill 2/3 of the world's population. Our spies must now go back in time to prevent the global epidemic.

If anything, this book is harder to believe than the previous. Things and concepts discovered in the last book seem to be ignored or forgotten in this one. There are better time travel stories.
