This is a good book for the beginner sewer as well as a good reference for those with more experience. It covers everything from the tools for your sewing kit, a variety of hand stitches and their uses, information about the basics of sewing machines, differences in fabric, reading and using a commercial sewing pattern, seams, importance of ironing seams, etc. It also includes sewing projects that are based on the information learned in the book.
