The authors rely heavily on Pratt's autobiography for much of their material, but add significant tidbits where needed from contemporary records. Through a chronological discourse on his diverse and world-wide church experiences, the authors back up with personal life facts their claim that Pratt played a significant and instrumental role in the development and preservation of doctrines and principles that formed a new religion in 19th century America that continues to flourish and fill the earth today. This is perhaps the newest and most interesting bit of information -- Pratt's impact and lasting influence.

For those interested in early-LDS history, this is a must read.
