"I had everything I needed to run a household: a house, food, and a new family. From now on it would just be me and Sammy-the two of us, and no one else."

A tragic accident has turned eleven-year-old Aubrey's world upside down. Starting a new life all alone, Aubrey has everything she thinks she needs: SpaghettiOs and Sammy, her new pet fish. She cannot talk about what happened to her. Writing letters is the only thing that feels right to Aubrey, even if no one ever reads them.
With the aid of her loving grandmother and new friends, Aubrey learns that she is not alone, and gradually, she finds the words to express feelings that once seemed impossible to describe. The healing powers of friendship, love, and memory help Aubrey take her first steps toward the future.
Readers will care for Aubrey from page one and will watch her grow until the very end, when she has to make one of the biggest decisions of her life.
Love, Aubrey is devastating, brave, honest, funny, and hopeful, and it introduces a remarkable new writer, Suzanne LaFleur. No matter how old you are, this book is not to be missed.

At first, I thought, "Why is this book called Love, Aubrey? It's not related to a diary or anything to do with the title!" But, I had nothing to do so I read the novel. It turned out to be an AMAZING book that I read over and over! I've read lots of these books and this one is one of the best ones I've read! For ALL ages!! :)

I loved this 2nd book of Ms. Lafleur's. I like the way she described what led up to a difficult choice for the young girl -- one of the first steps of many to adulthood. The tough but soothing love of Gram provides an anchor.

This book is definitely a tear-jerker, but a heartfelt one at that. This book is about a 11year old girl whose Father and younger sister just passed away in a car crash that her whole family was involved in. She was staying at a house with her mother until one day where her mother leaves and never comes back for her. Evenutally her grandmother finds her all alone and takes her back to her house in Vermont to live with her. In Aubrey's journey in recovering she meets new friends and writes letters to the people she can't talk with anymore. With many twists and turns aubrey hopes to become reunited with her mother but yet she doesn't. Definitely a must read!!
