After leaving the Lawson Peabody School for Young Girls in Boston -- under dire circumstances, of course -- Jacky Faber boards a whaling ship bound for London, where she hopes to find her beloved Jaimy. But things don't go as planned, and soon Jacky is off on a wild misadventure at sea. She thwarts the lecherous advances of a crazy captain, rallies sailors to her side, and ultimately gains command of a ship in His Majesty's Royal Navy. But Jacky's adventures don't end there.

Jacky's story continues to be a fantastically entertaining adventure. It felt a bit like reading two separate books--the first half on the Wolverine, and then the second half with what followed--but seeing as how I've been reading this whole series consecutively, it still flowed like a natural installment. It's good to see Jacky really experience both the lowest lows and the highest highs in life, and she continues to be an admirable protagonist that I'd follow anywhere.

A true adventure book. My only regret was that I didn't read the other two before it...but even that couldn't get me to put this book down.

Great read although not my favorite so far...

I couldnt put this book down just like with the other books in the series but this book seemed to be made of 2 stories rather than just one and seemed to lack the unity that the other books had.
Still, its a fun and very adventurous book.
