Book two is just as "cute" as the first one. Different characters but same plot line, with all the action happening in the last couple chapters, leaving me questioning the purpose of the first 3/4 of the book. Nothing was really surprising and the timeline is just as wonky as in the first book. It almost feels like Brewer is trying to do a synopsis of her own book while trying to be as vague in her character's feelings and repetitive in her facial expressions and gestures as possible. I remember this being so much better the first time I read it... Not to mention the entirety of the first book is conveniently summarized in a matter of sentences, so if you're looking to get the most out of the series while reading the least, you can basically forgo the first book.
