I love the dark twist on the story, breaking the preconception of fariytales that disney formed around them. Obvioulsy not for everyone, but those who enjoy darker things will love this! The drawing style and format is really cool, and i'd difinitely read this over and over again.

This is NOT for everybody! A cross between its origin, Pinocchio and 1,001 Nights, only much more depraved, and with a cockroach. The art style is amazingly diverse, the inking vibrant, it was cleverly thought out leaving no loose ends. If at times it seems gratuitous, look again. Yes, it is quite grim, but its underlying social commentary is illustrative of our plight as humans.

The illustration is pretty good, but the re-imagining of the story is so grim as to be drained of charm. Not all that enjoyable.
