Holloway worked for two years as a
Peace Corps volunteer in the remote
village of Nampossela in Mali, West
Africa. There, she became friends with
Monique, the village midwife in a
country with one of the highest infant
mortality rates in the world.

This is a wonderful story of friendship, and a realistic story of what it can be like to work for the peace corps or similar aid organization in a small village in Africa where joys and hardships, life and death are part of the everyday landscape. I loved this book!
