It is funny but you can always tell B.C. productions by the acting. It is still the beachcombers over the top. I am not sure if it is the director or just the style. The music doesn't quite match the series. the costuming doesn't fit the body shapes they are dressing. It is like someone in a office said this what she will wear without looking at the actor. However the story could excel and is worth the watch if only to think of what could have been done.

In the second season of Sanctuary Dr. Magnus and the team scramble to try and save Ashley from the clutches of the cabal. Two of the season's best episodes involve Nikola Tesla and John Druitt. Nikola develops a vampire scheme that backfires very badly. John Druitt, aka, Jack the Ripper, helps the sanctuary when an evil spirit hiding inside John escapes and threatens the survival of the sanctuary. In the season finale the fate of the world depends on saving a creature that Dr. Magnus claimed she had earlier destroyed.

This is another show that somehow passed me by but I was fortunate enough to catch it while it is still on the air. I picked up season one and couldn't put it down so I continued on to season two and found it to just keep getting better and better. The characters are interesting, the storyline is fun, plus the acting and special effects are also great. I would highly recommend this to fans of science fiction.

Nikola Tesla: You've turned what was supposed to be a symphony into Rock and Roll! French-Canadian rock and roll!

Nikola Tesla: It's just my soul crushing depression talking. I am not myself.
Dr. Helen Magnus: On the contrary you are your real self again. Human. Mortal.
Nikola Tesla: Watch your language.
Dr. Helen Magnus: I'm sorry, Nicola, but its true. I've tried everything I could think of. There is simply no way to re-vamp you.
Nikola Tesla: You see how this puts a crimp in my plans for world domination. Not to say that I won't keep trying.
Dr. Helen Magnus: I would expect nothing less.
Nikola Tesla: Very well. If this is to be a wake, then lets do it properly. Join me in a toast. To happier times to those Halcyon times of blood lust now gone. Plus you got to admit vampires are just plain cool.
Dr. Helen Magnus: Amen.
Nikola Tesla: Here's to the glorious vampire race. Once mighty, now extinct.

Dr. Will Zimmerman: So uh, the Titanic?
Dr. Helen Magnus: I was fished out of the water by Molly Brown. She pulled me into a life raft. I was very lucky.

Stem cells, gene therapy, transplants, and cloning have changed the definition of "humanity" in the modern world, but the darker side contains monsters that only few are brave enough to face, because the future lies in their hands.
