Very helpful. The full range of gardening and livestock raising are covered in clear detail. The livestock part doesn't apply to me, but I will check this book out again closer to planting season.

Contains good tips for diagnosing what is wrong with your soil by observing which weeds grow in it. However, it is NOT "the most complete book on urban farming". Your Farm in the City is a very brief introduction to many things associated with homesteading. It is entertaining for the newbie. If you seriously want to grow your own food, you will require more detailed textbooks on specific topics. For example, it would be dangerous to raise bees, ducks, or chickens with the info contained in this book alone. If Your Farm in the City whets your appetite, then check out more comprehensive guides by John Seymour, Marjory Wildcraft, or Bill Mollison.

Very good. Lisa not only tells you tips, but also the reasons.
Many charts are clear and useful.
