I liked the overall plot but it seemed kind of random and rushed. Evie starts out totally normal and then midway through the book, there's all this crazy stuff happening, and then the end is a bit anti-climactic. I think it could have been a bit longer so the author could add more to make it less confusing. I recommend it only if you don't mind reading something that makes you wish you knew more about it. It was a quick read, at least.

I found the novel quite ensnaring, though the events immediately following the climax through the resolution fell short.

It was an amazing book. Some how confusing but it was good.

Once upon a time 16 year old Evie had made a name for herself in her small village as a healer and had dreamed of attending university to become a doctor. When the king came to visit the village and Evie healed a senior official in his entourage, the king rewarded her by granting her a scholarship to the university. The trip to the capital city was disastrous but when she arrived she discovered surprising new things about herself. This is a fairy tale with a twist and most lived happily ever after. It will appeal to anyone who loves magic and a happy ending. I really recommend it! Reviewed by BPL volunteer EE.
