It's more of the same in 4 novellas that are in a holding pattern. I was going to stop reading this series but happened to see the anime Disappearance of H S and it brings about a much needed change of Kyon's basic situation, so it's on to the Rampage.

The Boredom of Haruhi Suzumiya is about Haruhi and the group decide to play baseball and their skill to the test so they went to the stadium and now on they have to battle the pirate to baseball who they bet on it if Haruhi win they have to play in tourment after they won decide to visist a island decide to go have fun and now on they work together to find out what happened in the house was a murder it was a fake ever.
