This was just an average Victorian mystery for me. Not terribly bad, but not as memorable as I would have thought it might be. I also find the title truly mysterious in relation to the story it's connected to--not sure what is meant by the unbelievers (well unless it's folks struggling to believe in a God--seems there are several in this book, but that doesn't really have much to do with what happens). "The Unbelievers" feels like it's the start of a series, but I don't know that I was drawn in enough to want to further explore the adventures of Inspector Allerdyce.
