Bruno wakes up in bed next to Caroline, his longtime crush. But tomorrow she's off for school in France, and maybe she only granted this miracle as a parting gift for her long time friend. So tonight is Bruno's last chance. And tonight, as it happens, Broken Social Scene, her favorite band, is throwing a big outdoor bash. Maybe if Bruno, with the help of his best pal Blake, can score tickets and give Caroline a night to remember, he can keep this miracle alive.

Skip It - This Movie Is Broken (2010) 85 min. This movie is not only broken, I don't even think it's a narrative movie. It's composed of 80% concert footage of a Toronto-based band called Broken Social Scene and the rest about a guy looking to solidify his relationship with a girl he's had a crush on for years. For most of the film, I thought I was watching a long 90-minute music video. The music is not too bad but the characters are as interesting as a game of tic tac toe. Recommended only for those that want to try out a new band or like this band to begin with. For all others like myself, it's a no no.

I have a whole new appreciation for the talents of BSS...the concert footage taken from a free concert done in Toronto at the Habourfront was phenomenal...I just wish there had been more concert stuff over the movie storyline. LAME LAME LAME, found myself wanting to fastforward thru it.

The footage is fantastic, and if you're a BSS fan, and want to see the footage with Feist, Emily Haines and Amy Millan all on one stage, I'd recommend getting it. But you may wish to try to block out the storyline, which I found terrible. In fact, I'd just fast forward right through it. I really hope they do something decent with the BSS footage.

Lame date movie in which a young man improvises after his preferred squeeze bails on him. Only the soundtrack by Can-con indie rock band Broken Social Scene proved better than expected.
