Although not badly written, the story is ridiculous. I should have known better than to continue reading when the 2nd page yielded this bit of nonsense, "She deepened her voice, faking a burr which would have done Bonnie Prince Charlie proud."
Puh-leeze. Prince Charles was more of a French dandy than a Scot and spent very little of his life in Scotland. If he had a "burr" it's news to me and a great many other people.
I know that one does not read ROMANCE for historical accuracy or for believable story lines, but this one goes beyond even the usual bounds of strained credulity.
