I found it to be rather repetitive, but the graphical displays of when and where the early migrations occurred and the formation of haplogroups was most interesting but very quickly (too quickly) shown and not expounded upon.

I waited a long time to get this DVD and when it arrived it was disappointing though I am glad I have watched it. There was too much present day human interest and not enough scientific information.

Great video. The only thing i don't like is that they insist humans only traveled out of necessity; famine, climate change, etc. But i think it's clear all lifeforms, especially humans, are programmed to explore & investigate even when times are good...Surely this was a big contributor to our travel (?)

It is really amazing to know that we all are descended from the same family in Africa.
During the last two hundred thousands of years, our ancestors traveled from Africa toward the east and have reached the southern tip of the South America.
Although the migration from Africa to America is true, however, the researchers are preoccupied with the land bridge between Siberia and Alaska.
I don't think that all the Americans used the land bridge.
In 1947 Norwegian explorer and writer Thor Heyerdahl used a raft called "Kontiki" and sailed across the Pacific Ocean from South America to the Polynesian islands.
For the same token, there is a ocean current that flows from Asia to America along the equator.
So some of our ancestors might have sailed from South East Asia to South America on the "Ocean Highway."

Some of the facts presented here are not accurate and the subject matter is dumbed down. If interested in this subject, try watching "The Incredible Human Journey" which is, in my opinion, more in-depth, more entertaining and more informative.

documentary - they take several samples randomly in NY and trace these back to Africa (in groups based on markers in their dna) and briefly describe how these traveled and why. the results were interesting.
