This might be funnier if I was actually Polish and had been to one of their weddings to witness the apparently tragic things that must happen at a lot of them. The games played during the reception seemed like a lot of fun, but as for the movie itself, it was terrible. The comedy they were trying for is the really obvious kind where nothing goes right, from the fact that the husband of the bride was bribed to marry her with a car, from which a lot of the trouble stems. It doesn't go anywhere but downhill from there. Warning, the copy I borrowed had a Polish menu and I struggled for a bit to set the subtitles on (not having a word of Polish to my credit) otherwise the movie was running without any at all. Which is strange that a copy sold internationally would not have English menu titles.

Some truly bad translating there, couldn't make sense of any of the subtitles. I would only watch this if you spoke Polish; then it might make sense.

This film is a colossal waste of time.

This movie authentically captures the awkwardness and the exaggerated tacky splendour of a Polish wedding. Halarious right up to the very dark ending.

I wouldn't call this a black comedy, but it certainly is dark in places. It is also pretty funny. Keep your eyes on the background (if you can while trying to keep up with the subtitles) - a lot of funny things happen in the background of scenes - I'm sure I missed some myself.
