I had never heard of this author or book, but the cover looked interesting, and it proved to be true. It seemed to be weaving a tale similar to the de Vinci code, only many years earlier. I think it is a great read, especially for the astute adolescent or someone who is looking for a challenge.

When the mysterious sage, Aidor Bilbicum returned from Jerusalem he was carrying with him a miraculous stone that legends called lapis philosophurum – The Philosopher’s Stone”. Was the amulet Grimpow held glowing in his hand the same stone coveted by kings, starting a war that sees the Circle of Castles ablaze?
