In November and December of 2002, 14 young women, trained as video journalists and camera operators, traveled to rural regions of Afghanistan to interview their countrywomen. In the span of two months, they met and spoke with women eking out an existence in caves, women risking punishment by daring to appear on film and women whose lives and families had been destroyed by years of bombing and oppression.

This documentary shows what life is like for women and children in Afghanistan, especially those living in remote locations. There are many widows living in poverty. They were cooped up in their homes for years, their husbands then killed by the Taliban, and now they live in misery. Watching this helped me understand why we sent our military there for 10 years. These people desperately needed our help.

I thought this documentary was interesting. I think more and more of women's experiences in Afghanistan will be talked about.
