It's a good biography. The life of an actress married to a rock star. It's a roller coaster ride with alot of dips in it.
This book is an easy read. Valerie glosses over her life talking about her eating, marriage, family, and work. Not full of details in any particular matter that she is going through. She does have a good sense of humor about her charmed life. I enjoyed it.
I imagine it is quite a struggle to grow up--or just BE--in the spotlight, no matter what media it is. I watched nearly every episode of the show One Day At A Time, & feel that all of the cast were very brilliant & contributed much to their part of the show. I would have liked to have met all of the cast members. Valerie certainly seems an inspiration & I wish her many years of success. Hot In Cleveland has become one of my favorite shows as well. God bless her! I look forward to reading her 2nd book as well. She writes very well & makes you want to read it!
I had a crush on Valerie as a young boy and find I still do. She was a fine girl and is a nice woman. Talks about her childhood an getting into commercials and acting, her insecurities with her body, eating disorders, weight problems, her marriage and adventures with Edward Van Halen before and after. I think women can learn from this book. There is a little bit more or less or Valerie in all women. This books helped me as a man to better understand the psyche of women.
Good book to read from beginning to end.
I thought this book was about her weight loss (as suggested by the title), but it's really her biography, centered around her marriage.
