Always the wedding coordinator, Lillie Bauer makes brides' dreams come true, but when it comes to her own love life, she's never the bride.

Fifteen years after the mysterious disappearance of her childhood sweetheart, Ted, Lillie --bungee-jumper, book addict, and delightfully offbeat coordinator of "extreme" high-concept weddings--is ready to find love again. As she boldly but reluctantly braves a disastrous dating scene, Lillie is caught between two images of married life-- the rich, lifelong partnership shared by her parents and the troubled marriage of her younger sister, Tacy.

Faced with long-buried feelings, fears for Tacy, and concerns about her father's failing health, Lillie finds strength in an unlikely community of loved ones, including Cristoff, her epileptic, florist business partner; Pleasance, a sassy clothing designer; and her Hungarian Grandma Erzs#65533;bet. When Lillie stumbles across a danger that threatens those she loves most, she'll need more than friends and family to get through it- she's going to need a miracle.

So, one thing I can give this author is that she actually does a good job of not having Christian fiction suck COMPLETELY. Usually, I have to stick with older works from C.S. Lewis or John Bunyan. In this novel, while I like how authentic her characters are, the endings typically leave a bad taste in my mouth. I like endings that aren't completely predictable, but with everything that the protagonist's younger sister went through, how she ended up was just awful. After reading this and "Women's Intuition" I see a pattern with her writing too: 30-40 something single, curvy woman has a jaded past with men, but is surrounded by stern, yet loving friends. God puts her in a situation that gets her out of her comfort zone, insert Christ-like man here as well as actually getting over God's test, then the happy ending. Not sure if I'll pick up other books in the future. That's my two cents.
