This is one of my all time favorite Jazz albums. This recording was made on March 7, 1963 at the Van Gelder Studio in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey.
The band consists of:
Johnny Hartman – vocals
John Coltrane – tenor sax
McCoy Tyner – piano
Jimmy Garrison – double bass
Elvin Jones – drums
Hartman's voice just will melt your ears and heart like butter. His voice is soft yet distinct and is a great delight to hear.

A desert island disc. The band shopped for sheet music on the way to Rudy Van Gelder's studio on a cold day out in New Jersey. Recorded the album very quickly, one day, one take.
