Okay, this has to be my favorite book! Sunny is developing her culinary skills, even while she's kidnapped, Violet and Quigly are too cute (!!!) and Klaus is still very sweet. Love that Lemony puts a little of everything into his writings. I hope Quigly is okay!

This may be my favorite book out of the series.

this book is by far my favourite. Now that you finally know how Olaf kept on finding the orphans, the story really kicks in, and the Baudelaires are wrapped up more than ever in this V.F.D. plot. Loved the person the orphans met, and the way Sunny Baudelaire is growing up. Read the rest of the series as well.

There were multiple aspects of this volume that made it my favorite so far: all of the variations of VFD (Verbal Frigid Dialogue being a favorite); Sunny is growing up and finding her own way to help her siblings; the third Quagmire triplet; the Snowscouts and their ABC pledge and the moral dilemma we see the children working through. Should they "fight fire with fire" or follow "the world is quiet here" as their pledge.

So this was the like the eleventh book in the series. Tbh, I was starting to lose hope in the series but I was continuing on because it seems to get interesting towards the end and I really want to know what happens! However, I really loved this book! I was hooked in this one right till the end! It showed more of a background into VFD which was really good and I absolutely love the character of Quigley Quagmire! Quigley and Violet are too cute!

“If you feel . . . that well-read people are less likely to be evil, and a world full of people sitting quietly with good books in their hands is preferable to world filled with schisms and sirens and other noisy and troublesome things, then every time you enter a library you might say to yourself, 'The world is quiet here,' as a sort of pledge proclaiming reading to be the greater good.”
