Shawn Mahoney and Tony Steeves, both ten, and Shawn's younger brother, Craig, eight, are trapped on an ice floe and speeding down Chocolate River. They are quickly spotted by a passerby, who calls 911 and sets the police and fire departments in motion. What ensues is a complicated and dangerous rescue mission. The water is moving fast, and it will be terribly difficult to intercept the boys at the right point on the river. If they float all the way out to sea, they could be lost forever.

It was alright but they kept talking about how they were on the rock and they touched the water, then stopped so it was kind of boring.

Thsi book is a very interesting book. it can even teach you somethings in likfe that may come in handy!!
This book was a page turner to me and pretty amazing on how they survived.
In my opinion of this book Chocolate river rescue the author Jennifer McGrath Kent gave great discription and explaination to her thaughts in the story.This is a mind grabbing cliffhanger. I like the title of the story because if it was Petitcodiac River it wouldn't have attracted my attension or people near my age because people my age just day dream about candy and chocolate. I love how on page 42 when the author wrote thisPetitcodiac River "T-t too c-c-cold chattererd Tony, his lips blue". This gives me agreat visual I can imagine myself doing that when its -20. This novel is great overall that's why I think this book deserves a rating of 5. Also remember this is my opinion so if you disagree please put your beliefs in what you think in this book grabbed your attension.
