A Natalie Cole album is always a good album performance and production-wise. With 19 tracks, this is a good-buy (if ever you bought this). Don't expect any improvisations from these standards from her since her award-winning album, Unforgetable. They're still good but listening to them seems more like Unforgetable Vol 2 or is it Vol. 3 this time. Remember, Linda Ronstad in the 80s with her 3-album of standards? I just hope, Ms. Cole would work on a theme in her future albums to make a difference so as to make them more distinct and "collectable." And could she be less on the strings and possible work on a more pure jazz setting and without her father duetting her to cut any umbilical cord so as to sound more independent?
