Otis Ray Redding, Jr. (born in Dawson, Georgia) was an American singer, songwriter, record producer, arranger, and talent scout.

Redding is considered to be one of the greatest singers in the history of American popular music and a seminal artist in soul music and rhythm and blues. His singing style influenced many other soul artists of the 1960s.

*Note* - On Dec. 9, 1967 - Otis Redding (26 at the time) died, along with 6 others, in a small-plane crash at Lake Monona, near Madison, Wisconsin.

This "Best Of" CD contains 16 tracks in all which were recorded by Redding (along with accompanying musicians) in the years between 1962-1967. 2 of my favourites are - I've Been Loving You Too Long, and Dock Of The Bay..... (*Watch music-video*)
