Way too much chaff among the wheat. Twain's a great writer and his prose is often wonderful but his autobiography needed some serious, brutal weeding to make this a compelling read. Some great tales here and there but, man, do you have to slog through (skip) a lot of boring crap. Worth a look if you love Twain.

Upon dictating the capacious story of his life, Twain stipulated that it shouln't be published unexpurgated until 100 years after his death. Seven months after the passing of that milestone, fans finally got their look.
