Too much about hunting and killing animals. Did not watch very much of this.

I rated this pretty high. I liked this film a lot. I liked the story, the images, the visual beauty, the morality expressed.

The film is about the bonding between a teenage and his father whom he visits once a year in the woods of Montanna. There are flashbacks of the father interacting with the grandfather here and there but this is basically a 2-person film. For that reason, it needs an exceptionally good story line to elevate it to an interesting level, but has failed to do so. A watchable film, but not great.

When you compare this to movies like "The Edge" or "Revenant" this falls short. I had low expectations and found it disappointing.

Surprisingly much better than we thought it would be. This is not one of those action films where the bad bear chases the poor human victims through the wilderness for days. It's more a coming-of-age story about character and the parallel stories of fathers and sons. But there is plenty of suspense, although if you're looking for a real action-flick this will move too slow for you.

The scenery, settings were about as good as it gets for someone that loves the outdoors and all that it entails. Father-son bounding seemed exceptional. I enjoyed it. But the dad sure seemed to lack some of the basics of survival in such an environment. None of those rules were applied.

I got tired of the movie before it ended. Struggles seemed needless.

My husband and I were on the edge of our seats throughout this film. A good watch, and justly rated PG-13.
