Bird wakes up feeling grumpy. Too grumpy to eat or play — too grumpy even to fly. "Looks like I'm walking today," says Bird. He walks past Sheep, who offers to keep him company. He walks past Rabbit, who also could use a walk. Raccoon, Beaver, and Fox join in, too. Before he knows it, a little exercise and companionship help Bird shake his bad mood. Praised by the Wall Street Journal as "comic perfection," this winsome, refreshingly original picture book is sure to help kids (and grown-ups) giggle away their grumpies, too! Bird's impeckably crafted, hilarious melodramas continue in the Grumpy Bird board book, Boo Hoo Bird, Hungry Bird, and coming in 2018, Sleepy Bird.

I love Jeremy Tankard's "Grumpy Bird". Who can't relate to this quirky character? Check out "Boo Hoo Bird" as well!

In a foul mood, Grumpy bird stomps through the woods, and his friends join his walk. Their good mood is contagious!

This is a fantastic read-aloud. It is very funny, has a great rhythm, and a great positive message. I have asked children to make super grumpy faces when we start, and they have obliged with hilarious results. Children and parents are always smiling by the end. Truly charming and delightful. The bright colourful pictures complement the story nicely.

A goofy story that is sweet but all the animals flying at the end was a little silly. My toddler loves reading this book. He also likes that it is a good story to practice his sign language for grumpy, the various animals, and he adds happy at the end

Sometimes all it takes is some good friends and a silly situation to change your mood. The bold art style is very appealing.

Fabulous story-time book! Great fun can be had with the different characters voices and a game of follow the leader is a good tie in activity for when the story is done!
